How do I apply for an International UNV position?
The first step is to ask yourself if you fulfill the necessary criteria and have the necessary skills and experience to be an international volunteer:

  1. You need to be at least 25 yrs old.
  2. You need to have the required language skills. This means that you master the working language orally and in writing which is used at the UN duty station. In most cases this is English, but can also be Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian.
  3. You need to have a University degree.
  4. In most of the assignments, it requires to have at least 2 to 5 yrs in the field for which you are applying.

The second step is to apply to the UNV Roster. Here are the instructions:

  1. Go to the UNV homepage: http://www.unv.org
  2. Click on “how to volunteer”.
  3. Click on “apply to become a UNV volunteer” on the left side of the menu.
  4. After you read carefully “qualifications and Conditions of Service”, click on “go straight to the application page”.
  5. Fill in the UNV application and submit your personal data.
  6. Within 24 hours from sending your application, you will receive an automatic confirmation of your inclusion in the UNV database and your personal identification number. Please note that inclusion in the UNV database does not guarantee that you will receive a UNV volunteer assignment.
