Hot Clouds of Ash from Merapi Mountain

Merapi, a volcano situated on the island of Java, 30 km north of Jogjakarta has come back to life. The volcano last erupted in 1994, killing 60 people. In early May, lava begun streaming down the mountain and some 17000 people were evacuated from the area.

At 5:50 am, 15th May, Merapi erupted sending out pyroclastic clouds and raining down over two districts to the west and north west of the volcano.

The most destructive forces of nature of the earth also created some of the most stunning landscapes.
